چکیده

This paper investigates constrained control design problems involving mixed magnitude and rate saturations. We show that simultaneous design of structured feedback and antiwindup gains can be recast as minimizing two H∞-norm objectives. One is associated with nominal system operation while the other also captures the saturations effects. Because of the two-block structure of the controller, the problem is inherently difficult. We use recently available tools in nonsmooth optimization to compute controller components in a single run thereby alleviating the conservatism of more conventional schemes. The proposed methodology is applied to an aircraft control problem for which a PID feedback controller and a second-order antiwindup compensator are optimized simultaneously. keywords: Anti-windup, magnitude and rate saturations, structured controllers, hinfstruct, nonsmooth programming.

Entwurf von modellbasierten Anti-Windup-Methoden für Systeme mit Stellbegrenzungen

Neglecting actuator limitations when designing a feedback control may cause a severe malfunctioning of the control loop during operation. This faulty behavior is often termed windup and manifests itself in intense oscillations, a significantly prolonged settling time or even instability. The main objective of this work is the development of systematic design methods for anti-windup strategies, ...

Lmi-based Synthesis of Anti-windup Filters with Pole Constraints

This paper presents a design method for a linear anti-windup filter with filter pole constraints. The anti-windup design problem can be cast as an LMI optimization problem. The anti-windup filter is optimized for L2 performance while its poles are constrained in a predefined region. The constrained poles ensure the fast recovery of saturation free linear responses and practical implementation o...

GIMC structure based Anti-Windup control considering L2 performance

This paper deals with GIMC (Generalized Internal Model Control) structure based Anti-Windup (AW) control system design. First, we setup a L2 performance criterion based on GIMC structure for Anti-Windup control problems. The design problem is formulated as an optimization problem with a parameterQ. Then we calculate the optimization problem and find an optimal Q. Finally, the effectiveness of p...

Robust Anti-Windup Compensation for PID Controllers

In this paper an approach for robust anti-windup compensation design for PID controllers based on the characterization of H2 and H∞ norms as Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMI) is presented. The robustness is considered by assuring the closed loop performance, spite of unknown changes on the actuator saturation limits. The stability and performance margins are evaluated from H2 and H∞ norms of the...

Stability Analysis and Anti-windup Design for Discrete-time Systems by a Saturation-dependent Lyapunov Function Approach

This paper deals with the stability analysis and anti-windup design of discrete-time systems subject to actuator saturation. We present a new saturationdependent Lyapunov function to estimate the domain of attraction, which is then formulated and solved as a constrained LMI optimization problem. Further we propose an anti-windup compensation method to enlarge the domain of attraction in the pre...
